[academic project: spring semester 2021] --The subject of this studio was to design a proposal for the new architecture department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Coming to the main concept of this specific project, the complex use of the grid in several dimensions was the main key to inspiration, because of its indirect links with architecture and its multiple unexplored potentials. By using a grid and deconstructing its fundamental principles, a complex spatial device is proposed. The columns of the structure assemble a system, that forms a motion network by simply changing its density. A similar system surrounds the building and controls its sunlight exposure. In general, the main idea of this project focused on finding the balance between a flexible or agile building and defined design fundamentals.
